Great Gorilla Run
25th September 2005
750 Gorillas all dressed up and ready to go met at Minster Court in the City ready to run 8 km in aid of the Dian Fossey Trust, which helps the ever decreasing numbers of mountain gorillas.
Great comedy value and lots of bananas everywhere then we were off. A somewhat tiring run as the weather was warm and the costume beacame heavier and heavier as the run went on. Lots of stunned and amused faces met us all as we soon spread out over the streets of the City. The passers by which amazed me the most were the ones who didn't bat an eye lid...like it's normal to see 750 gorillas run over Tower Bridge on a sunday morning in september!?!?!
All good fun, and I got to keep the costume. Anyone got a fancy dress party coming up?
Runnig the Nike 10k on sunday 16th, but in normal running kit this time and with a few less bananas no doubt.
